We investigate whether an existing trademark is still being used by the owner in a certain market. Non use of a mark might be a reason for having it deleted from the registers. An in use search is particularly useful if you want to register an existing mark or if you are faced with an opposition.
We offer a basic version (Level I search) and an extended version (Level II search). The product description below is applicable to our in-house searches (i.e. countries for which both a Level I and a Level II is available; exception: the EU package which is conducted by an associate). Information from searches by our associates varies per country. Please contact our Customer Support department for more information.

Country coverage
Level I search (basic search) European Union (except Greece and the new EU member states), Norway, Switzerland.
Level II search (extended search) Possible for every country in the world. In some countries, however, in use searches are often more difficult because of various reasons such as the limited number of reliable sources, language difficulties, the extent of the country, etc. In view of this, an alternative methodology is necessary. As a consequence, only one level of service can be offered for these countries. The contents of the reports will therefore differ from our normal Level II report.
EU package: this package checks for use in the whole European Union.
